Did my fingers slip? Oh, no? Another free pattern!
I created the fat panda when the baby of the family (Who is about ten now! When did that happen?) asked for a crochet panda for Christmas. I couldn't find any patterns that I 100% loved so I decided to whip up my own. If nothing else, it's a good starting point for anyone to get creative with their own patterns!
Hook F
sc = single crochet ch = chain ss = slip stitch dec = decrease
dc = double crochet
- Body
- Start with white yarn and make a magic circle with ch2 and 7 sc.
- Ch 2 and ss (do this between every round)
- Crochet two sc in each stitch around
- (Crochet two sc in one stitch and then one sc in the next two stitches)*. Repeat * around.
- (Crochet two sc in one stitch and then one sc in the next three stitches)*. Repeat * around.
- Sc around for four rows.
- Switch to black.
- Sc around.
- (Crochet two sc in one stitch and then one sc in the next three stitches)*. Repeat * around.
- Sc around for two rows.
- Switch back to white.
- Sc around for seven rows.
- Stuff with polyfil or beanbag stuffing.
- (Sc in the next three stitches and then dec)*. Repeat * around for two rows.
- (Sc in the next two stitches and then dec)*. Repeat * around.
- (Sc in the next stitch and then dec)*. Repeat * around.
- Dec around and then do the perfect close for amigurumi.
- Arms
- I personally created the arms by beginning on the body and crocheting to the tips.
- Start with black.
- Sc into circle of 10 stitches.
- Sc around twice.
- Dec around and then close.
- Ears
- Begin crocheting on the head with black.
- Sc four in a line on the head.
- Ch 1 and turn.
- Dc four and tie off to bottom thread, and then pull thread into head.
- Feet
- Crochet onto body with black.
- Sc into circle of 15 stitches.
- Sc around.
- Dec around and then close.
- Using a yarn needle, stitch your facial features onto your fat panda!
