Call Me The Queen Of Hearts

You can call me the Queen of Hearts because I'm just as sexy as her.

My husband literally laughs at me when I try to act sexy.  What more of a turn-down could there be then your husband laughing at you in the bedroom?  He shouldn't be blamed though. I really do look ridiculous.

In his defense, though, he always tells me that I'm the sexiest when I'm not trying. So I guess that means I'm attractive sometimes...You know, in the way that a cat can be nice sometimes...kind of.

One more sexy cat for the road? Of course.

The Mouse in the Tea Kettle

Do you remember in the animated version of Alice in Wonderland the mouse that the Mad Hatter partied with? The one that chilled in the tea kettle and looked half drunk?

Yeah, that one. Whenever he spoke he sort of swayed around and looked like he was about to lose his lunch. That's about how I feel right now. Not that I'm smashed in any way, shape, or form. I just feel completely icky today. I had been doing so much better health wise, too, so it is especially making me want to go back to bed today. It doesn't help I'm completely and utterly exhausted. My husband is the epitome of a night owl and cannot go to sleep unless it's technically tomorrow. Then, however, I have to be up before the sun to help get him and everyone else in the house showered and going for the day.  By the time he's heading out the door, I've already got my coffee and am snuggling down onto the couch to blog and in no mood to go back to bed.

Except for today.

I want to go back to sleep so bad! However, there is so much housework looming over me that it's overwhelming.  Plus my husband thinks that him having to leave for work so early gives him an excuse to brush off his only household chore of feeding the crazy cats. Sorry, Honey, but that's not going to last. I love my fluffer-loves to death, but they're driving me insane.  I've never seen such a mess as what those cats have created. Currently, we are storing our seven cats in the trailer that used to be my in-laws house. They have blankets, beds, litter boxes, food, water, and anything else they want except the outdoors because they are simply indoor cats. They don't know anything else! So once they learned how to break out of the house, they thought they were hot stuff.  Each time we fix their escape route, they find another. They even chewed a hole through the door at one point! A HOLE THROUGH THE DOOR. Yeah. I told you they were crazy. Their current means of exit is through a window that we've already had to seal up with chicken wire.

So feeding the cats also entails catching the cats, something that my sick butt is truly not feeling up to right now.  A few of them are very easy to get a hold of because they'll walk right up to you in a "pleasepetme pleasepetme pleasepetme" sort of way. We have a couple who are runners, but they will come to the sound of food. But then I have one little girl, named Mischief, who likes to play "catch me if you can". She will run within a food of you and as soon as you bend over to pick her up, she's off again.  She will sit in briars and stare at you.  Climb a tree and meow at you.  It typically takes half an hour or more to catch the little devil.

Mischief (front) and her daddy, Trouble

But because I love the little fur-babies and I hate the idea of making them wait for food until Jesse gets home in five hours, I'll stumble up there and figure something out.

Why Wonderland?

Have you ever felt as if your world were spinning out of control? That's where I'm at right now. I fell down the rabbit hole and Wonderland isn't looking too wonderful.

I spent several months of my life rooming with my best friend in our college dorm room. She was a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and had many items that represented the movie. I spent several months of my life falling asleep to and waking up to a poster of Alice watching a fluffy white cloud shaped like a rabbit float by.

"I can't explain myself because I'm not myself, you see?" -Alice

It was during this time that my life started to fall apart. It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last time, but it was rough nonetheless. I absolutely lost myself in the chaos.  I was drowning in the stress of nursing school and planning for my wedding, then I started to get very sick. I'll elaborate more later, but after a month of guesswork from emergency room doctors I was finally hospitalized to have my gallbladder removed.  It took longer for me to heal then it should have and by the time it was all said and done, I had missed too much school to continue on with the semester.

Basically a death sentence to a nursing student.

What made it worse was that during this already straining time, my husband (then fiance) lost his job. I had to move in with him after ending my semester early and was dependent on him. We were living in a very, very small town, especially for a college town, at the time. He couldn't find a job. Months passed without any signs of hope.

The time for our wedding approached, and we went through with it despite the fact that we were as broke as we can be. It was the most frugal wedding I have ever witnessed, but it was also the most beautiful. Like my surgery story, I'm planning on posting more about that at a later date.  After returning back to town, nothing changed in the job hunt. We barely had enough money for rent, bills, and food so the gas and books for returning to school was out of the question.

My dreams were put on hold.

We bowed our heads in defeat and have moved in with his parents. Their functionality as a family is radically different than anything else I've ever experienced. I feel so lost and confused now. My entire life has been dedicated to school; dedicated to becoming a nurse. Now I'm playing the role of housekeeper to a family of five.

What happened? Where did this life come from?

Talk about being blindsided...

I can't explain myself because I've lost who I truly am in all of this.

The Tumble Down The Rabbit Hole

Alice: “I just wanted to ask you which way I ought to go.”
Cheshire Cat: “That depends on where you want to get to.”

To be honest...
I honestly have no idea where my life is heading right now. My husband and I have fallen so far down the rabbit hole, that we are clueless as to where we are. I, for one, have been trying to convince myself that it is a new adventure. So far, I'm not 100% convinced but at least I'm trying.

My husband...
Jesse Lee Bocock. This kid is the light of my life. My tiny little world revolves around him from sun up to sun down. He's the funniest guy I know, though there are times his jokes may go too far. We are high school sweethearts and were wed on June 22nd, 2013. Now the poor man will never be rid of me!

My cats...
Jess and I have seven cats. Yes. Seven. It's insane, I know. It didn't happen on purpose.  Jess had his one, Lulu, and then I got my two boys, Trouble (pictured on the left) and Kulu (pictured on the right). Then we inherited Miss Kitty from one of our friends. Then our family exploded when Trouble and Lulu gave us three tiny miracles: Mischief, Fred, and George. Needless to say, we are crazy cat people -_-

My passion...
For years now I've been working in the background as a photographer. I started off as everyone does: as a klutz with a camera.  I quickly learned a few tricks, however, and got a job as a photographer's assistant. While I was away at college, I worked freelance and had a lot of fun. I've drifted away from it the last little bit, however. Possibly because of all the chaos that has taken place in my life. Now I'm jumping back in head first. My other dreams (college, nursing, physical therapy) have been put on the back burner and it's given me a lot of time to focus on the other joys of life...

My life...
It's an awfully long story that takes awhile to tell...
But don't worry yourself: you'll be filled in on all in time!
